Starting center Zach Frazier headlines a trio of Pittsburgh Steelers players who were given a questionable designation for Sunday night’s home game against the Green Bay Packers.
Frazier had missed Thursday’s practice but was given a limited designation for Friday on the league-mandated injury report. Frazier, who said he suffered the injury early during last week’s loss at the Cincinnati Bengals, also was limited at practice Wednesday.
If Frazier cannot play, Ryan McCollum would be in line to make his fourth NFL start, his third for the Steelers.
IR guys questionable
Two Steelers who remain on the injured reserve list — inside linebacker Malik Harrison and rookie quarterback Will Howard — were listed as questionable to play Sunday after completing respective full weeks of practice. Harrison has not played since the Sept. 7 season opener, and Howard hadn’t practiced since suffering a broken hand two weeks into training camp.
The Steelers have one open spot on the 53-man roster for an activation of Harrison or Howard.
Austin back, Miller out
Receiver Calvin Austin III’s return to the lineup was made official via the status report that offered no designation following a full week of fully practicing. Austin had missed two games because of a shoulder injury.
Whereas rookie Ke’Shawn Williams filled in as the punt returner and as a depth wide receiver in Austin’s stead, Williams likely will continue to earn a gameday “hat” because WR4 Scotty Miller will not play Sunday because of a finger injury suffered during practice this week.
Williams also handled kickoff return duties during the two games he has played.
