Ray Liotta and Kevin Costner starred in “Field of Dreams,” a 1989 movie about a novice farmer who builds a baseball park in his cornfields.

It’s being built, and Major League Baseball hopes they’ll come.

Fans, that is.

A real-life “Field of Dreams” will be constructed in the same Iowa cornfield that was home to the classic 1989 film, MLB.com reports.

The league announced the game, slated for Aug. 13, 2020, in a tweet on Thursday morning. The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox will take the field.

MLB.com reports the venue will be a temporary 8,000-seat ballpark that will be built on the farm in Dyersville, Iowa. It will be the first MLB game played in the Hawkeye State.

“As a sport that is proud of its history linking generations, Major League Baseball is excited to bring a regular season game to the site of Field of Dreams,” Commissioner Rob Manfred said. “We look forward to celebrating the movie’s enduring message of how baseball brings people together at this special cornfield in Iowa.”

The game is set to be broadcast on Fox.

Construction is said to begin Tuesday, one year from the game date. The design of the park, MLB.com reports, will “pay homage to Comiskey Park, which was home of the White Sox from 1910-90. The right-field wall will include windows to show the cornfields beyond the ballpark, which will overlook the movie set.”
