Franklin Regional grad Mike Evans spent time at Robert Morris and West Virginia.

Mike Evans continues to build momentum toward a new college stop.

The wide receiver, who entered the NCAA transfer portal and left West Virginia after a short stay, has five Division I offers. The latest is from Alabama State of the Southwestern Conference.

The others are from Florida A&M, Georgia State, Texas A&M Commerce and Murray State.

Evans, a Franklin Regional graduate who began his college career at Robert Morris, has three years of eligibility remaining.

Football

Seton Hill: Senior Jaylen McDuffie tackled another postseason honor.

The standout linebacker was named to the D2 Conference Commissioner’s Association All-Super Region I Team.

McDuffie led the Griffins with 118 tackles, 21 for loss, and 11 sacks. He is the program’s career record holds with 363 tackles.

He also was named the PSAC West Defensive Player of the Year.

In other Seton Hill news, fourth-year defensive coordinator Kevin May was named to the American Football Coaches Association 35 Under 35 Coaches Institute Leadership Class. He is one of 35 winners. May, who also coaches linebackers, helped the Griffins rank first in the PSAC West in yards allowed (264 per game).

The leadership class helps to identify future high-end leaders in the sport. Participants attend a one-day summit that includes lectures on ethics, responsibilities, career progression and balancing family and coaching duties.

May spent four seasons at Texas A&M-Kingsville and also coached two years at Wyoming before joining Seton Hill.

Wrestling

Pitt: Redshirt senior Micky Phillippi (Derry) and redshirt junior Colton Camacho (Franklin Regional) picked up wins at 133 and 125 pounds as the 17th-ranked Panthers rolled past Illinois, 30-6.

Women’s soccer

Pitt-Greensburg: Senior Ashley Lucas added another honor to a decorated list of them for her career as she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Team for the second time.

Lucas finished the season with 19 goals and 10 assists for 48 points. She set program records for career goals (56) and points (143), and for the second time in her career was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Men’s soccer

Indiana: Nate Ward (Greensburg Central Catholic) and the Hoosiers will go against Pitt Friday night in the NCAA College Cup semifinals in Cary, N.C..

Ward, a junior forward, has appeared in 19 games, with two starts, and has one goal on 10 shots (3 on frame).

Indiana and Pitt also met in the College Cup two years ago with Indiana winning 1-0.

Indiana has made the national semifinals four times in the last six years and an NCAA-record 22 times in 50 seasons.

The Hoosiers have not allowed a goal in three postseason games.

Penn State Behrend: Senior defender Justin LeDonne (Franklin Regional) was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region VII Second Team.

LeDonne started all 23 games for Behrend (15-3-5), which posted 16 shutouts in 23 games.

He had two goals and one assist.

Women’s cross country

Cal (Pa.): Junior Malia Anderson (Greensburg Salem) finished 111th out of 260-plus runners at the NCAA Division II National Championship at Chambers Creek Park in University Place, Wash.

She was the Vulcans’ first national qualifier since 2016.

Men’s swimming

Clarion: Sophomore Austin Prokopec (Penn-Trafford) swam a leg of a record-breaking 200-yard medley relay at the Zippy Invite at Akron. The team finished 13th in a time of 1:31.36.

Saint Vincent: Freshman Alex Leskovansky was named the PAC Rookie of the Week. He won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly, and swam the anchor leg of the Bearcats’ winning 200 medley relay, in a win over Washington & Jefferson.

Women’s swimming

Grove City: Freshman Annika Albright (Franklin Regional) took eighth in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:14.98 at the Calvin Winter Classic.

Saint Vincent: Senior Erica Steele (Greensburg Salem) was named the PAC Swimmer of the week, while freshman Emma Martz (Hempfield) earned the conference rookie of the week. Steele won three times in the Bearcats’ win over Washington & Jefferson (100 backstroke, 500 freestyle and 200 individual medley).

Martz took the 50 freestyle in the same meet.

Westminster: Senior Shannon Geer (Hempfield) finished 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:03.13 at the Wooster Invitational. She also finished ninth in the 200 backstroke (2:17.29).
