Norwin grad Declan O’Brien has a chance to wind up among the top five in several key career receiving categories for Allegheny.

A local trio with on- and off-the-field smarts are up for one of college football’s major awards.

Lehigh senior offensive lineman Christian Jablonski (Ligonier Valley), Allegheny senior wide receiver Declan O’Brien (Norwin) and Washington & Jefferson senior linebacker Justin Johns (Franklin Regional) are on a list of 201 semifinalists for the William V. He is a two-time Patriot League Honor Roll member and carries a 3.38 GPA.

Johns, a PAC Honor Roll and CSC Academic All-District member with a 3.89 GPA, had 21 tackles, second-most for W&J. He is a previous winner of the Paul Reardon Award, the top male scholar-athlete award at the college.
