Westmoreland campus clippings: Seton Hill men's basketball off to best start in 2 decades
The only thing better than a fast start for the Seton Hill men’s basketball team would be an even faster finish.
The Griffins moved to 4-0 for the first time in nearly two decades with an 87-72 win over Roberts Wesleyan. Junior guard Sean Dillon erupted for 26 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists, while senior guard Samuel Tabe scored 21 and junior guard Ryan Meis had 14.
In the previous game, the Griffins topped Salem, 91-66.
Tabe (18 points), senior guard Drew Green (14) and Dillon (14) scored in double figures for the Griffins.
First-year coach Ben Wilkins, a Mt. Pleasant native, is pleased with his team’s play, but tempers his excitement because the season is so young.
“It’s definitely early,” he said. “Long year to go. We are just trying to get a little better each day. Our guys are playing with energy and playing hard for each other.
It is a special group of young men. They have unconditionally bought in from Day 1 with what we are trying to accomplish.”
