Gateway grad Brady Walker competes for Saint Vincent during the 2022 season.

Saint Vincent was looking for a bust-out victory to move a game above .500 in conference play and continue its quest for a winning football season.

The Bearcats made it happen.

They erupted for a season-high 52 points and 439 yards in a 52-35 victory over Allegheny in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference matchup in Meadville.

Senior quarterback Brady Walker threw for 315 yards and five touchdowns, junior Molayo Irefin caught nine for 103 yards and junior Max Pisula (Greensburg Central Catholic) scored two touchdowns to lead the Bearcats (3-4, 3-2).

Another highlight for SVC in the win was freshman Justin Emeigh kicking the longest field goal in program history. His 42-yard kick, which came in the second quarter, broke the previous mark of 41 yards set by Matt Houston in 2007.

PAC plaudits followed the win: Walker was named conference offensive player of the week, whiel freshman safety Ethan Facey was the PAC Rookie of the Week.

Facey forced two turnovers in the win, including an interception and a fumble recovery.
