The Pitt-Greensburg women’s tennis team finished as the runners-up in the AMCC this season.

Turner Price plays singles and doubles for the Pitt-Greensburg men’s tennis team.

He also likes to double up on awards.

Price, a junior from Penn-Trafford, repeated as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and earned all-conference first-team honors at No. 1 singles after a strong spring season.

He finished 5-0 at the one spot, winning every match in straight sets. He is 15-0 in singles for his college career.

Price and teammate Vaughn Hunkele, a senior, also earned All-AMCCC first-team recognition at No. 1 doubles. They went 6-0 and won the conference title.

Also, UPG’s Francisco Garcia and Andrew Oden (Yough) were first-team picks at No. 3 doubles after a conference title. Garcia is a junior and Oden is a senior.

Pitt-Greensburg: With a 5-1 victory over La Roche, the Bobcats advanced to the AMCC championship match. Wins in the semifinal came at No. 2 and 3 doubles by the teams of freshman Emily Ruhlman and freshman Abigail Rosman, who moved to 6-0 on the season, and sophomore Kelsey Murphy and sophomore Stephanie Pantelas also were victorious.

Ruhlman, Rosman and freshman Cathryn Rossi were singles winners for UPG, which fell to Penn State Behrend, 5-4, in the final. Rosman and Ruhlman were named to the all-tournament team.

Delaware: The first career reception for redshirt sophomore Braden Brose (Hempfield) went for a touchdown as Brose pulled in an 18-yard scoring pass as the Blue Hens (6-0) defeated Sacred Heart, 19-10, in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

Washington & Jefferson: Freshman Justin Huss (Derry) was impressive in his first college start, rushing for a game-high 115 yards on 20 carries, including a 33-yard run, in a 27-20 loss to Westminster in the PAC championship game.
