Norwin’s Polczynski sisters are all square.

Freshman guard Mara Polczynski helped Grove City avenge an earlier loss to Westminster and her sister, senior Magen Polczynski, as the Wolverines stormed past the Titans for an 87-50 win in the Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Mara had a career-high 12 points and added six assists and four steals in the rematch, while junior guard Megan Kallock (Greensburg Salem) tallied a game-high 26 for Grove City (16-7, 13-4).

Each team won at home.

Westminster (15-8, 12-5) won their earlier meeting, 71-65, with Magen scoring 16 points.

Women’s basketball

Marietta: Sophomore guard Olivia Gribble (Norwin) had 11 points and made three 3-pointers in a 71-44 win over Capital, and added 10 in a 58-41 victory against Heidelberg that moved her team’s winning streak to four. Gribble leads the balanced-scoring Pioneers (21-4, 14-4 Ohio Athletic Conference) with a 10.3-point average.

Pitt-Greensburg: Junior Sidney McCully had 17 points and freshman Melina Maietta (Greensburg Central Catholic) added 16 to propel the Bobcats (17-5, 12-3 AMCC) to a 77-38 win over Mt. Aloysius.

Maietta poured in a career-high 29 points, while senior Nadege Durand had 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Bobcats capped the regular season with a 72-60 win over Alfred State. Maietta made 12 of 16 shots.

Durand recently topped 1,000 career rebounds.

Point Park: Grad guard Michelle Burns (Hempfield) played her final game at Point Park Saturday but, as Burns would have it, broke another program record — her own, in fact.

Burns, who has more than 1,800 career points and is third on the Pioneers’ all-time scoring list, made her 82nd 3-pointer of the season to break her single-season mark of 81. She finished with four 3s and 21 points in a 75-70 loss to Indiana East.

The Pioneers finished 14-11.

Thiel: Senior Colleen Trainer (Mt. Pleasant) scored a season-high 13 points and grabbed four rebounds as Thiel edged past Saint Vincent, 56-55, in the Tomcats’ PAC regular-season finale.

Men’s basketball

Charlotte: Grad guard Austin Butler (Latrobe) tallied 17 points, one of six 49ers in double figures, and also grabbed nine rebounds, in a 99-84 victory over Marshall.

Pitt-Greensburg: The Bobcats (9-14, 7-8) put up some numbers, but were clipped by visiting Mt. Aloysius in an AMCC heart-breaker.

Senior guard JoJo France connected on seven 3-pointers and totaled 27 points, senior Matt Johnson added 18 points, including the 1,000th of his career, and UPG made a season-best 15 3-pointers, but Mt. Aloysius eked out a 75-74 win.

Johnson made four 3s and junior Micah Johnson made three on the way to 13 points.

Sophomore Reggie Priah grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds and registered 23 points, while France added 24, junior Jaylen Williams 17 and junior Micah Jones 15 as UPG took down Alfred State, 102-95.

Robert Morris: Junior Brandon Stone (Southmoreland) had 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Colonials’ 96-88 loss to Illinois-Chicago.

Shippensburg: Grad guard Jake Biss (Latrobe) scored a game-high 23 points, pulled down seven rebounds and added three steals for the Raiders (16-8, 13-6 PSAC) in a 70-62 win over Bloomsburg.

West Liberty: Sophomore Bryce Butler (Latrobe) erupted for a game- and career-high 30 points — on 14-of-19 shooting — and grabbed six rebounds in a 110-107 win over Fairmont State in overtime.
