Bailey Parshall capped a career season in the pitching circle at Penn State with an All-American nod.

The senior from Belle Vernon was selected to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American Third Team.

She is just the fifth Penn State softball player to be named an All-American, and the first since Cassidy Bell in 2013.

Parshall finished 22-9 with a 1.68 ERA, nine shutouts and 211 strikeouts. She ranked 10th in Division I in shutouts and opponents hit .199 against the left-hander.

Parshall tied the program record for wins in a season and became the third PSU pitcher to reach 200 strikeouts in a season.

She tossed the fifth perfect game in school history against Florida International and later was named to the Big Ten all-tournament team and made the NFCA All-Great Lakes First Team.
