The Pittsburgh Penguins host the New York Islanders at PPG Paints Arena on Monday night for Game 5 of their playoff series.
After the Penguins lost Game 4 on Saturday on Long Island the series is tied at two games apiece.
Mark Madden and Tim Benz preview the game and discuss the series so far on this week’s edition of “Unfiltered” on TribLive’s Facebook page.
What is the biggest thing that the Penguins need to change as the series becomes a best-of-three?
Madden said, “If Crosby’s line doesn’t produce, they don’t have a chance.”
Madden is surprised the series is tied with Sydney Crosby’s line only having two goals total so far. He points out the line is small with only Crosby playing a “big game” and said he shouldn’t have to be the biggest guy on his line. Madden thinks that head coach Mike Sullivan should shake up the line and move Jeff Carter to wing for Crosby.
Madden also talks about how hockey now is a big, heavy game, which isn’t the Penguins’ style of play.
Benz and Madden also talk about the goalies: will Penguins’ Tristan Jarry find his regular season form, and will the Penguins get to the Islanders’ Ilya Sorokin?
The guys also talk about the other NHL playoff series, as well as the Pirates and what is ruining the baseball. And they touch on the Steelers and look ahead to what to expect next season.
The guys also answer viewers comments and questions.
