Just about everything else is shutdown these days. But “Madden Monday” is not.
Mark Madden of 105.9 the X and I are here to talk about what sports do exist. That includes the Steelers and NFL free agency.
We examine the good things and bad things the Steelers did this past week as the roster for 2020 forms.
That includes the signing of free agent tight end Eric Ebron. I like the acquisition because at least it’s an attempt to get better at the position. But he does have the profile that would suggest the Steelers are repeating a pattern at that spot.
I’ll tell you what that is.
We also tackle the decision to franchise Bud Dupree and what the Steelers should do along the offensive line now that they’ve signed Stefen Wisniewski.
Aside from that, the biggest topic of conversation is what may happen with the NHL. The league is reportedly holding a big teleconference about its finances. So the economic fallout of this coronavirus pandemic may have a ripple effect long beyond the rest of this season.
We get into some of the statistical debating about what is taking place with the dissemination of information as it relates to the covid-19 outbreak. And how it mirrors a trend in sports.
Then we bemoan the absence of gambling and the potential doom of sports as we know it.
Plus, other lighthearted matters.
