Well, what do you know?

It’s a “Madden Monday” podcast … on a Monday!

Will wonders never cease?

Between holidays, vacation days and our mutually busy concert schedule, Mark Madden and I haven’t been able to connect on a Monday for the past few weeks, pushing our usual post back to Tuesdays. But we are back on schedule now.

This week, Mark and I begin by talking about the many concerns of the Pirates. They include the bullpen, the starting depth, and what to do with the outfield now that Corey Dickerson has returned.

LISTEN: Mario memories, Pirates problems, state of Steelers

There is some Steelers talk, too, particularly the notion that the Steelers and Browns can both be better atop the AFC North. Is that possible? Or is the Browns hype too much?

Perhaps better asked in Pittsburgh, are we too hopeful that the Steelers will be improved by the absence of their distracting players?

We don’t leave out the Penguins either. Mark and I flash back back 35 years to the day Mario Lemieux was drafted, and we get into the latest Phil Kessel trade talk.
