An Allegheny County sheriff’s sergeant was injured while trying to eject a McKeesport man from Heinz Field on Sunday during the Pittsburgh Steelers game.

Elvis Matejcic, 47, got into an argument with the officer after he was told to leave the Champions Club shortly before 2 p.m., according to a criminal complaint filed in support of the charges.

Matejcic was with a group of people drinking and celebrating a Steelers touchdown when the incident occurred.

The officer got involved after Matejcic ignored orders from a private security officer at the stadium to move from an area near the club where patrons are not permitted because of safety concerns.

Matejcic allegedly refused multiple orders from the sergeant to leave the area, saying, “I ain’t moving and you ain’t moving me,” according to court records.

Authorities said Matejcic resisted when the sergeant attempted to escort him from the building and “swung his right arm back” and struck the officer in the chest.

The report says Matejcic continued to resist as the sergeant and another officer placed him in handcuffs. During the scuffle, the sergeant fell on the wet pavement and injured his knee and hip.

Matejcic was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and taken to the Allegheny County Jail to await arraignment. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond, court records show.
