Steelers vs. Bills: What they're saying in Buffalo after rout
Not much to say in Buffalo.
The Bills are looking to a premier matchup next week with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Steelers? A mere speed bump. If that.
“Bring on coach Andy Reid and his keep-defenses-guessing play-calling,” wrote Ryan O’Halloran of the Buffalo News. “Can we please, please, please get more drama than the snooze-fest against the Steelers, who answered being the largest underdog of the Mike Tomlin Era by suffering the franchise’s worst loss since 1989?”
Ouch.
The dominance was historic.
“This was a flexing of elite talent,” wrote Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News. “This was a demonstration of all-world quarterbacking. The fans in the stands are going to remember this one – they day they saw Josh Allen pass for 434 yards – 30 years from now.”

Remember when the Bills were favored by 14 points over the Steelers? Turns out, that was a slam dunk of a bet.
“Always trust Las Vegas,” wrote Dan Lavoie of Buffalo Rumblings, SB Nation. ” The gambling backrooms held a betting line firm at 14 points in favor of the Buffalo Bills, despite a slew of starters and key players expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Bills covered that spread by the halfway point of the second quarter and didn’t look back, eviscerating the Steelers in a 38-3 blowout win that was settled before halftime.”
Sal Maiorana of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle pointed out that the blowout could have been worse.

“Here’s the scary part, which Allen wholeheartedly admitted,” he wrote. “It could have been even more lopsided because there were several throws Allen misfired on, plays that could have resulted in more yards and points.
“From Steel Curtain to melted steel as Allen lit them up for 348 yards and four touchdowns in the first half, tied for the second-highest passing yardage total for the opening 30 minutes of an NFL game since at least 1991 on the way to a 38-3 laugher.”
Sheesh.
Bring on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
