The last three times the Pittsburgh Steelers have played the Buffalo Bills, the game has been contested in December.

Not this season.

When the 2021 NFL season kicks off, the Steelers will play the Bills at the newly named Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.

The game will kick off at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 and will be televised by CBS.

The remainder of the Steelers’ 17-game schedule will be unveiled at 8 p.m. Wednesday on NFL Network.

This is the third consecutive season the Steelers will face the Bills, who have won the previous two meetings, including a 26-15 victory in Buffalo last year.

The Steelers are coming off a 12-4 season that ended with a loss to Cleveland in the AFC wild-card round. The Bills won the AFC East with a 13-3 record and lost to Kansas City in the AFC championship game.

The Steelers haven’t opened the season with a home game since 2014.
