Referee Bill Vinovich (52) directs Pittsburgh Steelers long snapper Christian Kuntz (46) to the bench during an NFL football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, in Cincinnati.

The Pittsburgh Steelers retained one of their exclusive rights free agents Wednesday, giving long snapper Christian Kuntz a one-year contract.

Kuntz, 28, is entering his third season with the Steelers after beating Kameron Canady for the starting job in the 2021 training camp.

The undrafted free agent out of Duquesne and Chartiers Valley has appeared in 34 regular-season games with the Steelers as long snapper. The veteran minimum salary for a third-year NFL player is $940,000.

The other exclusive rights free agent on the roster is linebacker Jamir Jones.
