The Steelers’ Cameron Heyward sacks Colts quarterback Philip Rivers in the fourth quarter Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020 at Heinz Field.

Three players who missed the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the Indianapolis Colts returned to practice Wednesday when the team began on-field work for the season finale at Cleveland.

Kicker Chris Boswell (groin), linebacker/safety Marcus Allen (stinger) and linebacker Ola Adeniyi (shoulder) were full practice participants. Coach Mike Tomlin said that players returning from injuries would make it easier for him to rest healthy players for the season finale at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Missing practice because of injury were nose tackle Tyson Alualu (ankle), defensive end Stephon Tuitt (back) and safety Terrell Edmunds (shoulder). Players given the day off from practice included quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, center Maurkice Pouncey, guard David DeCastro, linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward.

Tomlin already has said Roethlisberger will not play against the Browns so he can rest for the playoffs. Pouncey, DeCastro, Watt and Heyward also are candidates to sit out the finale.
