Devin Bush is among the NFL players questioning the Jacksonville Jaguars’ decision to sign Tim Tebow following an eight-year absence from football.
Tebow, who will turn 34 in August, is expected to convert from quarterback to tight end.
The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker appeared to take exception to the signing in a Twitter post in which he wondered why Tebow is getting another chance when Colin Kaepernick remains unsigned.

Kaepernick, 33, last played in the NFL in 2016. Tebow threw his last NFL pass in 2012.
Kaepernick, of course, became a controversial figure in NFL circles for his decision to kneel during the national anthem. He began kneeling during the 2016 preseason to protest police brutality and social injustice against African-Americans.
Tebow was cut by NFL teams in the 2013 and 2015 training camps. He embarked on a minor-league baseball career with the New York Mets, playing three seasons prior to the coronavirus pandemic. He formally retired from baseball in February.
In Jacksonville, Tebow will be reunited with his former coach at Florida, Urban Meyer, who is in his first season as the Jaguars head coach.
Other NFL players have been critical of the Tebow signing because of his extended absence from football and his playing an unfamiliar position. Bush, though, compared Tebow to Kaepernick, and he appeared to be taken aback when his initial tweet became a talking point on social media. In another tweet, he accused the media of being “bored.”

Bush then clarified his stance, saying he wasn’t making any racial implications when he compared Tebow and Kaepernick.

Bush is entering his third NFL season. He is recovering from a torn ACL that he sustained in October last year against Cleveland. He is expected to be healthy for the start of training camp.
