Kicker Chris Boswell returned to the injury report for the Pittsburgh Steelers because of a groin injury that kept him out of the game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Boswell did not practice Thursday after being a full participant one day earlier.

If Boswell can’t kick in the season finale against Cleveland, the Steelers will promote Matthew Wright from the practice squad. Wright has kicked in two of the past four games while Boswell has battled hip and groin injuries.

The Steelers continued to rest several starters in advance of the playoffs next week. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, center Maurkice Pouncey and outside linebacker T.J. Watt each did not practice for the second day in a row. Safety Terrell Edmunds missed a second consecutive practice with a shoulder injury.

Returning to practice were guard David DeCastro, defensive end Stephon Tuitt (back), defensive end Tyson Alualu (ankle) and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward. DeCastro and Heyward were given the day off Wednesday.

Linebacker Ola Adeniyi (shoulder) and safety/linebacker Marcus Allen (stinger) each practiced a second consecutive day after missing the 28-24 victory Sunday against Indianapolis.
