Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (19) was fined $5,000 by the NFL for not having his socks cover his entire leg on Oct. 25 against the Tennessee Titans. Smith-Schuster is stopped by a trio of Tennessee Titans defenders in the second half in Nashville, Tenn.

The NFL socked it to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster for a violation of the league’s uniform policy.

Smith-Schuster revealed Tuesday he was fined $5,000 because his socks “failed to coverage your leg,” according to a letter he received from the NFL. The uniform infraction occurred in the Steelers’ game at the Tennessee Titans in Week 7.

Smith-Schuster posted the letter, which was dated Oct. 29, on his verified Instagram account. Smith-Schuster said running back James Conner also was fined $5,000 for a uniform violation.

Smith-Schuster and Conner can appeal their fines.
