The Pittsburgh Steelers brought back a familiar face and added a second long snapper to the training camp roster while making a pair of roster moves Thursday.

Signed to contracts were linebacker Jayrone Elliott, who appeared in five games with the team last season, and long snapper Liam McCullough. The Steelers also waived inside linebacker Leo Lewis, an undrafted free agent from Mississippi State, and waived/injured wide receiver Anthony Johnson, who hurt his knee in practice Monday.

By signing McCullough, the Steelers could be taking a precaution in case long snapper Kameron Canaday’s knee injury is serious. Canaday injured the knee in practice Saturday, but he was a practice participant Monday and Tuesday.

An undrafted free agent from Ohio State, McCullough was the Buckeyes’ long snapper for 54 of a possible 55 games.
