Cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers in late August, linebacker Mark Robinson has made his way back to the team after making a few stops in the AFC East.

Robinson, a special teams contributor in his first three seasons, was one of two players signed to the practice squad Tuesday. The Steelers also signed Penn Hills and Penn State product Daequan Hardy, a second-year defensive back.

Robinson was cut in favor of rookie Carson Bruener, who made the season-opening roster and has earned a role on special teams. Rather than return to the Steelers on the practice squad, Robinson joined the New England Patriots practice squad. He appeared in three games with the Patriots before being signed by the New York Jets off New England’s practice squad. Robinson also played in three games with the Jets before he was waived Oct. 18.

Robinson appeared in all 17 games with the Steelers in the 2023-24 seasons.

Hardy was a sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2024. He was released before this season and has no NFL experience.

Hardy was named the TribLive High School Sports Network Football Player of the Year as a senior at Penn Hills.

To make room for Robinson and Hardy on the practice squad, the Steelers cut wide receiver John Rhys Plumlee and defensive end K.J. Henry.
