Steelers add former Ohio State TE Marcus Baugh, waive TE Dax Raymond with injury
In the first roster move since training camp opened, tight end Dax Raymond was waived with an injury designation, a day after he left practice late after being hit and knocked out of bounds.
The Pittsburgh Steelers signed tight end Marcus Baugh to replace Raymond on the 90-man roster.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Baugh spent the 2020 season with Washington, and he caught one pass for 2 yards in eight games. He was released in May.
Baugh played collegiately at Ohio State and signed as an undrafted free agent with the then-Oakland Raiders in 2018. He also was with the Carolina Panthers in 2019.
At Ohio State, Baugh played in 59 games and caught 55 passes for 607 yards and eight touchdowns in four seasons. As a senior, he caught a game-winning touchdown pass against No. 2 Penn State.
Raymond also was waived/injured in the Steelers’ 2020 training camp, and he was signed to a futures contract in January.
