Sixers' Joel Embiid rocks hazmat-esque suit on way to NBA bubble
“The Process” looked ready to step into a lab when he showed up at the airport Thursday.
Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid wore what looked to be a hazmat suit en route to the NBA bubble in Orlando.
Earlier in the week, Embiid talked about the NBA restart and his feelings on the situation, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia.
“Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of the idea,” Embiid said. “But then again, I’m going to do my job. I’m not going to let the city down. I’m going to represent my city — that’s what I’ve always done — my family, my teammates. The mindset doesn’t change.”
The NBA season, much like every other U.S. professional sports league, has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Sixers will play their first scrimmage game against the Memphis Grizzlies on July 24. Seeding games for the Philly squad will start Aug. 1 with a game against the Indiana Pacers.
