Seton Hill’s new softball coach will inherit a team that has a nice ring to it.

Cassie Moore was named the Griffins’ coach Tuesday, replacing Jessica Strong, who resigned in August after a four-season run of success.

Seton Hill players and coaches received their Atlantic Regional championship rings last week before at volleyball match at the McKenna Center.

The Griffins made it all the way to the NCAA Division II World Series.

Moore comes to Seton Hill after four seasons as the head coach at Bethany.

Strong had a 110-56 record, including 42-12 last season when the Griffins won PSAC West title, an Atlantic Regional crown and a No. 7 national ranking.

“I am humbled to lead such a high-academic and goal-orientated team, and I look forward to building upon their past successes,” Moore said. “I’m excited to see what we can do in 2023 and beyond.”

Bethany reached the Division III Presidents’ Athletic Conference tournament the past two years and made the title game in 2021.

The Bison were 23-11 in PAC play under Moore.

She also coached a season at Division II Coker (S.C.), one more at Newbury (Mass.), another Division II program, and spent three years at Genesee Community College (N.Y.).

Moore played two seasons at Division II Mars Hill (N.C.).
