Seton Hill softball advances to PSAC finals for first time
Seton Hill made history Tuesday.
The Griffins softball team downed visiting Gannon, 4-1, to win a best-of-three PSAC semifinals series and advance to the conference finals for the first time.
The top seed from the West Division, Seton Hill (32-12) will host East No. 3 West Chester (28-11) in a best-of-three series starting 1 p.m. Friday.
Game 2 will follow, and a third game, if necessary, will be 3 p.m. Saturday.
In the semifinal-clinching win, senior Samantha Estupinian went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and senior Allison Kapoll had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run for the Griffins.
Three of the Griffins’ four runs were unearned.
Freshman pitcher Logan Hartman improved to 13-1, allowing four hits in the complete-game victory.
