Tyler Zimmer juggles a busy schedule.

The former Penn-Trafford football standout will be an assistant coach at Greensburg Central Catholic this fall, and he also serves as the strength coach for Seton Hill men’s lacrosse and runs Alphalete Performance and Fitness in Export.

His athletic background makes all of that possible — a notable college career at Seton Hill included.

Zimmer, a 2015 graduate who starred at linebacker for the Griffins, is one of five former student-athletes in the 10th Seton Hill University Athletic Hall of Fame class.

The other inductees are Emily Fagan (2015, lacrosse), Chris Fawcett (’07, ’10, soccer), Mallory Sanner (’14, track and field, basketball) and Nick Sell (’16, baseball).

The class will be inducted during a dinner Oct. 15 and will be recognized during Seton Hill’s homecoming football game Oct. 16 against Gannon.

Here is some background on each athlete:

• A Calgary native, Fagan holds lacrosse program records for career goals (219) and points (294). She was a second-team All-American as a senior, as well as a two-time all-region pick.

She led the Griffins to a 14-win season in 2015.

• Fawcett, who also graduated from Penn-Trafford, played a pivotal role in helping to put the men’s soccer program on the map. A former all-conference and all-region player, Fawcett had 18 goals and 26 assists in his career. He later served as a Seton Hill assistant.

• Sanner was the first national champion in school history, winning a title in 2013 at the NCAA Division II Championships in the javelin. She was a four-time All-American in the event and earned Atlantic Region Athlete of the Year, among other honors.

• The Griffins baseball record book mentions Sell a few times. The former Tino Martinez Award winner and Division II’s Most Outstanding Player, he had a benchmark season as a senior when he batted .444 with 28 home runs and 92 RBIs — program records. His RBI total led Division II, and he became an All-American.

He also holds the Griffins’ single-season mark in slugging (1.032), and career records in batting (.398), slugging (.739), hits (292), RBIs (242), doubles (59), walks (116) and home runs (59). After college, he signed a free-agent contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played two seasons in the Dodgers organization. He is now a police officer in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

• Zimmer is heralded as one of the top linebackers to play for Seton Hill. A first-team All-American in 2012, he holds the program’s career sacks record and is fifth with 276 tackles. His single-season marks of 121 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 19 sacks still stand.
