Robert Morris will open 2023 football season at Air Force
The 30th season of Robert Morris NCAA Division I football in 2023 also will be the first of the joint alliance of the Big South and Ohio Valley conferences. The 10 combined teams, six from the OVC and four from the Big South, will play a six-game league schedule.
Robert Morris, which will be led by sixth-year coach Bernard Clark, will play six games at Joe Walton Stadium and five nonconference games.
The Colonials’ first game is Sept. 2 at Air Force, the first meeting between the two schools. Robert Morris returns home to play Saint Francis on Sept. 9. Also part of the home schedule are nonconference games against Lynchburg on Sept. 23 and Howard on Sept. 30.
RMU will visit Youngstown State on Sept. 16 for a nonconference game, and will open its conference schedule at defending Big South champion Gardner-Webb on Oct. 7 and at Bryant on Oct. 14.
The first home league game for the Colonials will be Oct. 28 against Tennessee Tech before visiting Southeast Missouri on Nov. 4 to conclude the road portion of the conference schedule. The final two games are at Joe Walton Stadium against Charleston Southern on Nov. 11 and Eastern Illinois on Nov. 18.
