If Horizon League watchers are correct, Robert Morris will make a significant splash during its first season in the conference.

A poll of Horizon head coaches, communication professionals and select media members was released Thursday, and it predicts the Colonials will finish fourth this season.

Robert Morris is picked behind Wright State (37 first-place votes), Youngstown State (three) and Northern Kentucky (four).

The Colonials, who open against nonconference opponent Point Park on Nov. 25, are eager to return to the court after a disappointing finish last season. They won the Northeast Conference Tournament but missed the NCAA Tournament berth that goes with it because of the coronavirus shutdown.

Robert Morris finished 20-14, the fifth 20-victory season in 10 seasons under coach Andy Toole.

Robert Morris senior forward AJ Bramah was named to the Preseason All-Horizon League second team.

Bramah averaged 13.4 points and led the team with 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting 56.9 percent (173 for 304) from the field. He also blocked 16 shots.

He reached double-figure scoring in 29 of 33 games, including 23 consecutive games. The streak is the fourth-longest in school history.

Bramah is one of three returning starters, joining senior guard Jon Williams and junior guard Dante Treacy.
