Robert Morris men to host IUPUI in Horizon League Tournament
Robert Morris’ men’s basketball team will host IUPUI in the first round of the 2023 Horizon League Tournament at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the UPMC Events Center.
The sixth-seeded Colonials finished 15-16 in the regular season, including a 10-10 mark in the Horizon League. IUPUI finished 5-25 overall and 2-17 in the Horizon League.
Robert Morris will host a tournament game for the first time since joining the Horizon League in 2020-21. The Colonials have a 1-2 record in the Horizon League Tournament the past two seasons.
The Colonials lost to IUPUI, 81-75, in the regular-season finale Thursday, snapping a four-game winning streak.
“We just ran out of gas,” RMU coach Andrew Toole said in a news release after the game. “We weren’t able to get stops. Or consecutive stops. They made all the plays and the big shots and killed us on the glass. When you’re the hungrier team good things happen like they did tonight for IUPUI.
“We have to bounce back and get ready for the Horizon League Tournament.”
