Jon Williams can light it up from long range.

The Robert Morris guard led the Horizon League in 3-point field goal percentage (.440) for the 2020-21 season.

Now, Williams will get a chance to show what he can do on a national stage as he will take part in the 32nd State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-point Championships on April 1 at Butler University’s Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind.

Williams is one of eight players to compete in the 3-point championships which will be broadcast live at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.

The Akron, Ohio, native capped his RMU career last month by averaging 10.7 points and 5.1 assists in 18 games, all starts.

He attempted 109 shots from behind the arc and made 48.

In the overall NCAA Division I national rankings for the 2020-21 season, which counts all performances through the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Williams’ 44% from long range ranks him sixth.

He led the country in assist-to-turnover ratio at 4.00 (92 assists/23 turnovers).

Williams started each of his 120 career games with RMU. He was just the third in Colonials men’s basketball history to accomplish the feat.

Also ranking ninth all-time in program history for career games played, Williams posted career averages of 7.1 points, 4.1 assists and 2.1 rebounds. He was a career 41.1% (209 for 508) shooter from 3-point range.
