Robert Morris big man Brandon Stone to transfer
Another new stop awaits Brandon Stone.
The 6-foot-11 forward is departing the Robert Morris basketball team, confirming Monday he will enter the NCAA transfer portal for the second time in his career.
He did not want to elaborate on the details of his move at this time.
Stone, a junior who dealt with an early season ankle injury, averaged 6.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in his only season for the Colonials (8-24) after transferring from La Salle. He played in 23 games this season and shot 51% from the floor. He scored a season-high 17 points in a loss to Oakland.
Two years of eligibility could await Stone if the NCAA does not make him sit out a year.
Stone has been on the move several times before. When he left Southmoreland a year early, he played at The Christ School, a prep school in North Carolina.
Robert Morris recruited him when he was a sophomore at Southmoreland.
Stone saw a significant growth spurt, which brought out the scouts. He grew 10 inches between seventh and 11th grade.
