One day after the NFL postponed the Pittsburgh Steelers game at Tennessee until later in the season, two more Titans players tested positive for covid-19, ESPN reported Friday morning.
That increased the number of Titans players with positive tests to seven. Six staff members also have tested positive.
The postponement means the Steelers and Titans will be on a bye this weekend. On Friday, the NFL and its players association agreed that all players will receive daily testing during their team’s bye week and that players must remain in their team’s city during the bye.
Coach Mike Tomlin said Thursday that his Steelers players would be getting daily covid-19 testing through the weekend. The Steelers are scheduled to resume on-field workouts Monday.
Tennessee’s positive test results began Tuesday when defensive captain and nose tackle DaQuan Jones, long snapper Beau Brinkley and practice squad tight end Tommy Hudson were placed on the reserve/covid-19 list. Outside linebacker Kamalei Correa and rookie cornerback Kristian Fulton were added to the list Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
