Report: Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger fined $5K for wearing Apple Watch on sideline
Don’t ask Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to tell you the time, especially not when he is standing on the sideline on game day at Heinz Field.
According to an ESPN report, which cited an unnamed source, Roethlisberger was fined $5,000 by the NFL because he wore an Apple Watch on the sideline during the Steelers’ game on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The report said Roethlisberger is “livid” about the fine because he was given no advance notice that wearing an Apple Watch was a violation, either of the NFL’s uniform policy or the league rule that prohibits electronic devices that can transmit messages.
Roethlisberger wore the device on his left wrist because his right arm was bandaged from his recent surgery.
Roethlisberger, who is on injured reserve after undergoing season-ending elbow surgery, wore the watch on his left wrist while watching the Steelers defeat the Bengals, 27-3, for their first win of the season.
