The Point Park baseball team is ranked 14th in the Perfect Game College Baseball NAIA Top 25 preseason poll released Thursday.

The Pioneers are fueled by a pitching staff that returns nearly intact from last season when it ranked No. 2 in the NAIA with a 2.85 team earned-run average.

The Pioneers ended last year No. 13 in the Perfect Game poll.

This is the second time Point Park received a national ranking in an NAIA poll for the upcoming 2019 campaign. The Pioneers, who finished the 2018 season 47-9 overall, are slotted 16th in the NAIA Baseball Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll released in November.

Point Park opens its season Feb. 23 at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational in Winter Haven, Fla.
