Pitt gets verbal commitment from DE Trevor Sommers, 1st from class of 2025
Coach Pat Narduzzi received Pitt’s first verbal commitment from a member of the class of 2025 on Monday when defensive end Trevor Sommers pledged to enroll next year.

Sommers, a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has secured scholarship offers from several schools, including Bowling Green, Colorado, Illinois, Syracuse, Western Kentucky, Western Michigan, Indiana, James Madison, Maryland, UAB, UCF and West Virginia.
The first signing day this year for 2025 high school prospects will be in December. Sommers (6-foot-3, 245 pounds) has yet to be ranked in the Rivals.com database.
