Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi posts message to El Paso after mass shooting
Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi posted a note Saturday to the people of El Paso saying they remain “in our hearts and prayers” after a man opened fire at a Walmart in the city and killed 20 people.
Narduzzi posted this message to his Twitter account: “Eight months ago the people of El Paso gave us an unforgettable experience in their beautiful city. They made us feel like family. We share their grief and they will remain in our hearts and prayers in the days ahead.”

The Panthers played the Stanford Cardinal on New Year’s Eve 2018 at the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas. They lost 14-13.
Federal authorities said Sunday the shooting at a crowded El Paso shopping area Saturday morning will be handled as a domestic terrorism case. Hate-crime charges against the gunman that would carry the death penalty are also possible. The suspected gunman was arrested.
The attack in Texas was followed hours later by another one in Dayton, Ohio, where a gunman wearing body armor and carrying extra magazines opened fire in a popular nightlife area, killing nine and injuring at least 26 people. The suspected shooter was shot to death by responding officers.
