The Pittsburgh Pirates unveiled on Monday T-shirts with the Jolly Roger logo wearing a red bandana as a face mask that will be sold to raise funds for coronavirus relief efforts.
In a news release, the Pirates said the modified logo was designed to promote safe social health practices, and the shirts were made in response to fans asking if the logo was available on official team merchandise.
The black T-shirts with the “Safety Jolly Roger” logo on the chest with the #RaiseIt hashtag below are available online at pirates.com/raiseitTEE. They are available in sizes ranging from small to XXL at a cost of $25 plus shipping.
Pirates Charities donated $100,000 to Pitt’s Center for Vaccine Research, which is working to make a vaccine for the covid-19 virus, and has contributed to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and teamed with companies for food distributions.
