Pirates swap pitchers with Triple-A Indianapolis
The Pittsburgh Pirates continued trying to find the right combination in the bullpen Tuesday when right-handed pitchers Geoff Hartlieb and Yefry Ramirez were recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Right-handers Alex McRae and Montana DuRapau, who combined to allow 11 hits and every run in the 11-6 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Monday, were optioned back to Triple-A.
Hartlieb was with the Pirates from May 17 to June 29 and was 0-1 with an 8.10 ERA (20 innings, 18 earned runs) in 14 appearances. He is 3-0 with a 2.62 ERA (34 1/3 innings, 10 earned runs) and two saves in 21 games with Indianapolis.
Ramirez was with the Pirates for two days in June, but did not pitch. He was 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA (10 1/3 innings, eight earned runs) in four appearances (one start) with the Baltimore Orioles before he was designated for assignment May 22 and sent to the Pirates on May 27.
