Pittsburgh Pirates rookie starter Paul Skenes dazzled once again on the mound, this time on the road vs. the Milwaukee Brewers, no-hitting the opposition over seven innings Thursday.

Skenes tied both his career-high in strikeouts (11) and innings pitched, throwing 99 pitches and lowering his ERA to 1.90 on the year.

The only Brewers to reach base off Skenes were Jake Bauers, who was hit by a pitch, and Garrett Mitchell, who walked, both in the second inning.

The Pirates were ahead 1-0 when he departed the game in favor of Colin Holderman, but the no-hitter evaporated shortly thereafter, with Holderman allowing a leadoff single to Bauers in the eighth.

It was the second time in his short major league career that Skenes has left a start when he had a no-hitter going.

He threw six no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts and one walk against the Cubs in his second start May 17.
