Pirates place Jordan Lyles on IL, recall Montana DuRapau
The pitching woes continued for the Pittsburgh Pirates, as they sent a third starter on the injured list Monday.
Jordan Lyles was placed on the 10-day IL with hamstring tightness, two days after he lasted only three innings in a 5-3 loss at Milwaukee.
Lyles labored through 92 pitches against the Brewers, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks while striking out five. He’s 5-3 with a 3.64 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 64 1/3 innings this season.
The Pirates recalled right-hander Montana DuRapau from Triple-A Indianapolis. DuRapau is 0-1 with a 7.27 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in eight appearances for the Pirates this season.
