INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 25-18) beat Louisville (Reds), 8-7. 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes (.244) was one of three Indians with a home run. A two-run shot in the third inning was Hayes’ second of the season. Hayes finished with three RBIs. LF Kevin Kramer (.286) also had a two-run homer, and 1B Will Craig (.260) also hit one in the third, a solo shot. He has 12 home runs and 32 RBIs in 41 games played. RHP Eduardo Vera (3-3, 5.69) recorded the win after throwing five innings with four earned runs allowed and two strikeouts. LHP Jake Brentz (0-1, 2.45) earned his fourth save this season.

Next: Friday at Columbus (Indians), 7:15 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 22-23) lost 7-2 to New Hampshire (Blue Jays). RHP Scooter Hightower (2-5, 6.02) gave up five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and a two walks in five innings to record the loss. 1B Jerrick Suiter (.264) drove in both of the Curve’s runs on a fourth-inning single and ninth-inning double. LF Logan Hill (.292) doubled twice.

Next: Friday at Portland (Red Sox), 6 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 26-20) won 10-2 over Tampa (Yankees). LF Chris Sharpe (.253), DH Randolph Gassaway (.175) and 2B Jesse Medrano (.226) each doubled once. Medrano hit the most effective one, however, knocking in three runners in the seventh. The Marauders stole five bases including two from Sharpe and two from CF Travis Swaggerty (.253). Sharpe stole home in the fifth to put Bradenton ahead 5-2. LHP Domingo Robles (5-5, 2.61) earned the win in a six-inning outing, striking out five batters and walking three with two earned runs allowed on four hits.

Next: Friday vs. Tampa, 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 32-14) won 6-5 over West Virginia (Mariners). 1B Mason Martin (.252) went 2 for 4 at the plate with a triple, a home run and four RBIs along with two runs scored. Martin has 12 home runs and 45 RBIs in 44 games this season. RHP Brad Case (7-1, 2.10) pitched six innings with four earned runs allowed on eight hits and four strikeouts in winning effort. RHP John O’Reilly (0-0, 0.00) earned his second save this season in his fifth appearance.

Next: Friday at West Virginia, 7:05 p.m.

WASHINGTON (Frontier League, 3-9) defeated Florence, 4-2. C Lucas Herbert (.333) homered for the first time this season on fourth-inning three-run blast to put the Wild Things ahead for the game’s remainder, breaking a 1-1 tie. RHP James Meeker (2-1, 1.00) got the win after throwing 12/3 scoreless innings of relief with a strikeout and a walk. LHP John Havird (0-1, 5.06) went 41/3 innings with four strikeouts, two walks and an earned run in a no decision. RHP Zach Strecker (0-1, 3.60) earned his third save this season.
