Pirates minor league report: Francisco Cervelli goes 1 for 2 with RBI
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 61-65) lost 12-4 to Toledo (Tigers). LHP Brandon Waddell (2-6, 9.24 with Indianapolis) was responsible for the defeat after giving up four earned runs, seven total, in two innings with two strikeouts, three walks and six hits allowed. CF Jason Martin (.266) went 2 for 4 from the plate with two doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. 2B Mitchell Tolman (.231 with Indianapolis) was 2 for 4 with a double, a triple and two runs. C Francisco Cervelli (.385 with Indianapolis) finished 1 for 2 with an RBI. RHP Dovydas Neverauskas (3-3, 4.08 with Indianapolis) threw three scoreless innings of relief with four strikeouts, a walk and no hits allowed.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 63-63) won 3-0 over Hartford (Rockies) after scoring all three runs in the first inning. The Curve scored on a wild pitch followed by an RBI single from SS Oneil Cruz (.275 with Altoona) and an RBI groundout fielder’s choice by RF Bligh Madris (.266). LHP Cam Vieaux (3-3, 2.27 with Altoona) threw seven scoreless innings with six strikeouts, two walks and no hits allowed en route to victory. RHP Matt Eckelman (1-5, 3.47 with Altoona) recorded his 22nd save this season.

BRADENTON (High-A, 67-58) was idle. The Marauders have yet to determine Tuesday evening’s starting pitcher.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 34-28) lost 8-7 in 10 innings to Williamsport (Phillies). After trailing 7-2 through six innings, the Black Bears scored five unanswered runs in the next three innings to send the game to extra innings. RHP Alec Rennard (0-3, 7.45) gave up the go-ahead score in the top of 10th inning on an RBI double. Rennard finished with two strikeouts and a hit allowed in an inning of relief to record the loss. 3B Jared Triolo (.270) went 3 for 6 from the plate with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. C Kyle Wilkie (.283) was 3 for 5 with an RBI double and two total RBIs. LF Matt Gorski (.215) finished 3 for 4 with a double and a run. RHP J.C. Flowers (0-0, 3.71) gave up five runs on eight hits in a no-decision with two strikeouts in 31/3 innings.
