ALTOONA (Double-A, 52-45) defeated Erie (Tigers), 4-1. LHP Brandon Waddell (3-1, 2.67 ERA) earned the victory after throwing six scoreless innings with six strikeouts and four hits allowed. 2B Mitchell Tolman (.256) was 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run. LF Chris Sharpe (.211) went 2 for 4 with a double and two runs. 3B Brett Pope (.229) finished 2 for 3 with a RBI triple and a score. RHP Joel Cesar (2-3, 3.71) recorded his first save this season after throwing six scoreless innings with two strikeouts and a hit allowed.

BRADENTON (High-A, 53-45) won 7-3 over Clearwater (Phillies) in a rain-shortened, six-inning game. The contest was to be the first game of a doubleheader, but Game 2 was postponed. The Marauders scored seven unanswered runs after giving up three first-inning runs to Clearwater. RF Cal Mitchell (.269) went 3 for 4 with a two-run homer in the fifth inning. DH Lucas Tancas (.279) and 1B Mason Martin (.211) each hit a two-run single. RHP Aaron Shortridge (5-4, 3.73) pitched a six-inning complete game, giving up three runs in six innings with eight strikeouts, three walks and five hits allowed en route to victory.
