Pirates minor league report: April 4, 2019

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 0-1) lost on the road, 10-4 to Columbus (Indians). RF Patrick Kivlehan (.250) and Will Craig (.333) hit home runs for the Indians. SS Cole Tucker (.400) finished 2 for 5, leaving four runners on base. RHP J.T. Brubaker (0-0, 3.86) did not record a decision after pitching the first 4²/₃ innings. He allowed two runs on six hits, striking out three and walking two. RHP Jesus Liranzo (0-1, 54.00) earned the loss after allowing two runs in the sixth on three walks and no hits in one-third of an inning.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 1-0) won 5-0 at Akron (Indians). RHP James Marvel (1-0, 0.00) threw six scoreless innings, struck out nine and let up just one hit in an opening-game victory. 1B Jerrick Suiter (.667) went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs. C Pabst (.250) also batted in two on a two-run single in the fourth for an early 2-0 Curve lead.

BRADENTON (High-A, 1-0) defeated St. Lucie (Mets) on the road 1-0. The lone run came in the fifth inning on a right-field foul out from LF Chris Sharpe (.000), which scored 1B Lucas Tancas (.250) from third. LHP Domingo Robles (1-0, 0.00) earned the win after throwing six scoreless innings with a strikeout and two hits allowed. RHP Joel Cesar (0-0, 0.00) earned his first save this season, producing a hitless ninth inning and striking out two.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 0-0) won 9-8 over Hagerstown (Nationals). RF Brett Kinneman (.500) led the the Grasshoppers offensively, going 2 for 4 at the plate with a double, a two-run homer and four RBIs. RHP Samuel Reyes (1-0, 0.00) recorded the win, throwing 1²/₃ scoreless innings in relief of RHP Steven Jennings (0-0, 8.31). Jennings allowed four earned runs on eight hits over four innings. Reyes struck out three and gave up one hit.
