Pirates farm report for Sept. 7, 2021: Aaron Shackelford hits for cycle in Greensboro rout

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A 52-56) beat Louisville (Reds), 11-4. CF Jared Oliva (.265) had a big night, going 3 for 5 with two doubles, two RBIs and a stolen base. C Christian Bethancourt (.275) added a double and SS Diego Castillo (.400) had a home run and two RBIs. Max Kranick (3-4, 4.66) earned the win, pitching six innings and allowing only one run on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks.

Next: Wednesday at Louisville (Reds), 6:30 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A 53-53) lost 4-2 to Erie (Tigers). SS Oneil Cruz (.290) was 1 for 3 with a stolen base. Rodolfo Castro (.266) went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. RHP Roansy Contreras (3-1, 2.29) got the start and went three innings, striking out four and allowing one run on one hit. Osvaldo Bido (4-7, 4.67) took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing two runs on five hits, including one home run, and striking out five.

Next: Wednesday at Erie (Tigers), 6:00 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 70-39) pounded out 26 hits and clobbered Jersey Shore (Phillies), 21-4. DH Aaron Shackelford (.210) hit for the cycle, going 4 for 6 with seven RBIs and his 21st home run. RF Matt Gorski (.233) went 5 for 6 with his 16th home run. C Blake Sabol (.301) went 3 for 5 and hit his ninth homer. SS Andres Alvarez (.324) was 3 for 6 with his sixth home run. RHP Michael Burrows (2.15) and RHP Santiago Florez (3-2, 6.98) each pitched two scoreless innings.

Next: Wednesday at Jersey Shore (Phillies), 7:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 66-41) blasted Clearwater (Phillies), 19-8. SS Dariel Lopez (.258) went 2 for 6 and hit his ninth home run. RF Hudson Head (.211) and DH Jack Herman (.273) each doubled twice. LF Endy Rodriguez (.285) went 2 for 7 with a double and four RBIs. The Marauders walked 15 times. RHP Carlos Campos (2-1, 5.59) earned the win, giving up three runs on six hits in 3.1 innings.
