Pirates farm report for Sept. 15, 2023: Jared Jones fans 8 in 6 scoreless innings for Indy
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 66-74) allowed only two hits for the second straight game, defeating Omaha (Royals), 3-1. RHP Jared Jones (4.77) started and allowed no runs, one hit and one walk with eight strikeouts in six innings. RHP Cody Bolton (3-4, 4.03) allowed one run on one hit and two walks in two innings, picking up the win. RHP Travis MacGregor (5.58) worked a perfect ninth for his second save. 1B Matt Gorski (.313) went 1 for 3 with a two-run homer, his second in Triple-A. LF Ryan Vilade (.257) went 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored. 3B Malcom Nunez (.238) went 1 for 4 and scored a run.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 66-67) used four pitchers to throw a five-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over Akron (Guardians). RHP Aaron Shortridge (5.01) started and pitched three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and two walks. LHP Omar Cruz (3.94) allowed one hit in 3.2 innings, striking out eight. RHP Grant Ford (2-1, 4.37) allowed two hits in 1.1 innings to earn the win. LHP Geronimo Franzua (7.08) worked a perfect ninth. C Carter Bins (.233) went 3 for 4. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.234) went 1 for 4 with two RBIs. 3B Mike Jarvis (.231) went 1 for 3 with a walk and a stolen base. RF Lolo Sanchez (.225) was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
