Pirates farm report for Sept. 14, 2022: Liover Peguero homers in Altoona win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 70-66) relinquished the lead late in a 4-3 loss to Toledo (Tigers). CF Ji-hwan Bae (.295) doubled in the bottom of the first and scored on a double by 1B Brendt Citta (.250) to put Indy up one. C José Godoy (.214) hit a two-run homer, his fifth, in the bottom of the second to put the Indians up 3-1. RHP Osvaldo Bido (4.40) started and allowed one run on three hits, walked two and struck out five in five innings. LHP Cam Vieaux (2.87) allowed one run on three hits and struck out two in an inning. RHP Hunter Stratton (2-6, 5.49) came on in the seventh and gave up the lead, allowing two runs on two hits, walking three and striking out two. RHP Nick Mears (5.75) threw two scoreless innings and allowed no hits, but the offense was unable to put runs on the board late. SS Tucupita Marcano (.339) went 0 for 4 with a strikeout and DH Mason Martin (.214) went 0 for 3 with a groundout and flyout.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 69-64) shut out Reading (Phillies), 8-0. RHP Kyle Nicholas (2-4, 3.97) went five innings, allowed no runs on five hits and struck out six, while relief pitchers LHP Nick Dombkowski (2.85) and RHP Austin Roberts (4.47) each struck out three batters and allowed no hits or runs in their innings of work. SS Liover Peguero (.258) started the night for Altoona with a solo home run in the first inning, his 10th. CF Matt Gorski (.227) smacked a single in the fifth for two of his three RBIs. C Endy Rodriguez (.370) hit an RBI single in the seventh and a two-run double in the eighth. 2B Nick Gonzales (.258) also drove in a run in the eighth with a double and LF Lolo Sanchez added a solo home run in the inning, his fifth. C Henry Davis (.200) did not get in on the action, going 0 for 4 with two strikeouts.
