Pirates farm report for Sept. 14, 2021: Nick Gonzales raps 3 hits for Greensboro
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 54-60) got trounced at home by St. Paul (Twins), 13-4. RHP Beau Sulser (6-7, 4.91) got smacked around for eight runs on seven hits, allowing two home runs and one walk. LHP Cam Alldred (4-0, 2.08) came on in relief in the fourth, gave up a home run and recorded three strikeouts in 2.1 innings. The shelling continued as RHP John O’Reilly (3-4, 5.91) came on in the seventh and allowed four more runs on five hits with a walk and a home run. 3B Hunter Owen (.223) and DH Bligh Madris (.273) each went 1 for 4 and with a solo home run.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 56-56) was swept by Bowie (Orioles) in a doubleheader.
In the opener, the Curve lost, 3-2. RF Jack Suwinski (.252) hit a two-run blast with LF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.278) on base in the fifth inning to score the only runs for the Curve. 2B Ji-hwan Bae singled in the sixth. RHP Roansy Contreras (3-2, 2.65) got the start and went 3.1 innings, allowing three runs on three hits with one walk, one home run and four strikeouts.
In the second game, Bowie won, 6-4. RHP Osvaldo Bido (4-8, 4.96) was tagged for six runs, five earned, on five hits and three walks. He fanned seven. Bae (.281) went 2 for 3 with his sixth home run, a two-run shot, to run his on-base streak to 24 games. 1B Mason Martin (.248) went 1 for 3 and hit his 22nd home run.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 72-43) blitzed Hudson Valley (Yankees), 10-1. 2B Nick Gonzales (.302) went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and his seventh stolen base. LF Lolo Sanchez (.264) was 2 for 6 with his 17th home run and 30th stolen base. DH Aaron Shackelford (.213) went 3 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. CF Jonah Davis (.221) went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI. RHP Michael Burrows (2.20) started and gave up one run on a solo home run in three innings. RHP Domingo Gonzalez (2-2, 6.46) pitched five scoreless innings of relief, allowing three hits and four walks and whiffing one. RHP Jack Carey (11.57) struck out the side in the ninth.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 70-44) lost, 4-2, at Lakeland (Tigers). 2B Jackson Glenn (.364) went 3 for 4 with three singles and RF Hudson Head (.214) went 2 for 3 as the Marauders could only muster two runs on 11 hits. RHP Nick Garcia (5-4, 4.22) started and took the loss, pitching five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out seven. RHP Eddy Yean (5-2, 5.27) came on in relief, pitching 2.1 innings, allowing an insurance run in the eighth and giving up four hits and one walk with one strikeout.
