Pirates farm report for Sept. 1, 2022: Endy Rodriguez homers from both sides of plate in Curve win
INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 64-60) scored three runs in the seventh inning to beat Louisville (Reds), 3-2. RF Bligh Madris (.286) went 2 for 5 with two doubles and a stolen base and reached on an error on the play that drove in the winning run. CF Travis Swaggerty (.256) went 1 for 3 with the game-tying RBI single in the seventh. 2B Drew Maggi (.202) went 1 for 4 with an RBI double. 3B Kevin Padlo (.400) went 2 for 4.RHP Austin Brice (4.62) started and gave up two runs on four hits and a walk in 1.1 innings. Four relivers held Louisville without a hit the rest of the way. LHP Cam Alldred (2.28) worked 2.2 innings. RHP Nick Mears (1-1, 6.46) threw two perfect innings to earn the win. LHP Cam Vieaux (2.86) followed with two moer perfect frames. RHP Eric Hanhold (3.47) worked the ninth for his 10th save.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 61-61) used a big third inning to beat Akron (Guardians), 13-7. 2B Nick Gonzales (.261) went 3 for 5 and hit an RBI double in the third to open the scoring for the Curve. DH Endy Rodriguez (.362) followed with a two-run homer hitting right-handed, his seventh, and 1B Aaron Shackelford (.250) smacked an RBI double two batters later. Rodriguez continued to stay hot and hit a solo homer in the fourth left-handed, his eighth. RHP Jeffrey Passatino (3.89) started and went 3.2 innings and allowed two runs on three hits while striking out two and walking three. RHP Matt Eckelman (1-0, 9.00) went two innings and gave up two runs on three hits and walked three but got the win. RHP Brad Case (3.95) went 2.1 innings and gave up three runs, two earned, on four hits. The Curve bats added five more insurance runs in the eighth, spearheaded by Shackelford’s two-run single.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 54-66) had its bats quieted in a loss to Winston-Salem (White Sox), 8-0. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.287), C Abrahan Gutierrez (.256), CF Jase Bowen (.143) and SS Claudio Finol (.190) all had singles and were the only Grasshoppers to get hits. RHP Ricky DeVito (3-5, 4.70) went four innings and allowed two runs on three hits and struck out eight in a loss. Relievers RHP Jack Carey (5.95) and RHP Santiago Florez (6.64) each allowed three runs in their 2.1 and 1.2 innings respectively.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 64-58) beat Fort Myers (Twins), 8-7, on a two-run walk-off home run by C Wyatt Hendrie (.247) in the bottom of the ninth. Hendrie went 2 for 4. 2B Termarr Johnson walked to lead off the ninth. He went 2 for 3 with a double and two walks. SS Tsung-che Cheng (.281) went 2 for 4 with two RBIs. RF Sergio Campana (.206) went 2 for 3 with his seventh home run. 1B Juan Jerez (.215) went 1 for 5 with his seventh homer. RHP Carlos Jimenez (4.13) started and gave up three runs on two hits and three walks in two-thirds of an inning. RHP Carlos Lomeli (6-4, 5.63) pitched a scoreless ninth to earn the win.
